Initially completing a Bachelor of Laws degree, Michael went on to study an MSc in Corporate Risk Management at the University of Southampton and is a Specialist Member of the Institute of Risk Managers (IRM).
Having worked on a number of high profile reports within the education sector, his initial experience in journalism came as a contributor to a range of media outlets including BBC News 24, BBC Radio 5 Live and Europe 1 Radio.

His successes included expanding the Twitter community from 3,600 to 15,000 and being ranked at #30 on the worlds 50 most influential tweeting entrepreneurs.
